[ The Project ]

Pomerleau entrusted us with an unusual assignment: capturing a high-angle rescue simulation on camera, carried out jointly by their health and safety team and the Montreal Fire Department (SIM). The goal was not to produce a simple corporate video, but a true mini-documentary capable of strengthening Pomerleau's employer brand while showcasing its field expertise. A project where rigor, timing, and coordination were just as important in front of as behind the camera.

[ Our approach ]

We chose the documentary format for a simple reason: it’s the only one that can convey the true value of this initiative: human commitment. Rather than a standard informational short, we wanted to tell a real story, with its unexpected moments, intensity, and real faces. To make that happen, our team deployed with a toolkit designed for the field: POV cameras mounted on the rescuers, an FPV drone to follow the action up close, a cinema drone for wide shots, and telephoto lenses to make sure none of the maneuvers were missed. All of that without ever disrupting the simulation. We also took the time to sit the speakers in front of the camera to gather their testimonials, because in the end, it’s the human element that makes this kind of story memorable.

[ The result ]

A short narrative micro-documentary of a few minutes, accompanied by a shorter version tailored for social media. Pomerleau comes away with content that speaks as much to potential candidates as it does to its industry partners: a clear message about the company’s commitment to safety, delivered with the sincerity that only the documentary format can provide. In short, content that lives up to the standard, both literally and figuratively.
